Our mission is to promote all forms of Nordic skiing as a healthy activity for all ages and abilities. Among our core activities are maintaining and grooming over 140 kilometers of ski trails for recreation and touring, as well as performance skiing and racing.
Serving Anchorage's Nordic ski community requires the year-round commitment of a small but dedicated staff, hundreds of hard-working volunteers, and a fleet of specialized heavy equipment. More importantly, the generous support of our members and donors is what
makes all of this possible.

It was 31 degrees at Kincaid this afternoon while Craig was out grooming.  The sky sure looks like it wants to snow, but...nothing substantial yet.  He cleaned up the lanes and set new tracks on the Lekisch, Mize, Jodhpur, and Margaux's.  Skiing is excellent today for diagonal and skating.

Tom was out early today and groomed the Lighted Loops, Double Bubble, Spencer and Gas Line.  He set new tracks on the Hillside Lighted, Besh, Gas Line, Spencer and Double Bubble.  The tracks on the lower two lighted loops are still in good shape.  He's still contending with droopy brush on some of the trails and will work on that for the remainder of the day.  Tomorrow night, he hopes to cut brush and groom the TOA and APU.  We'll let you know how he's doing.  The trails are in great shape for classic and skating on the Hillside.

Bill checked on the trails in Chugiak and Eagle River and they are in fine shape.  He was out on the snow machine this morning at Beach Lake clearing brush from the trails.  He said to watch for leftover "snow plops" and a few sticks, otherwise the trails are in fantastic form.  Enjoy!
