Our mission is to promote all forms of Nordic skiing as a healthy activity for all ages and abilities. Among our core activities are maintaining and grooming over 140 kilometers of ski trails for recreation and touring, as well as performance skiing and racing.
Serving Anchorage's Nordic ski community requires the year-round commitment of a small but dedicated staff, hundreds of hard-working volunteers, and a fleet of specialized heavy equipment. More importantly, the generous support of our members and donors is what
makes all of this possible.

Out at Kincaid, Peter is snow machine grooming the Mize, Arlene's Way, Old 6, Ice Box and the Lekisch Lighted.  He checked the Sisson, but it's just too thin and rocky to groom.  Skate skiing around the park is pretty good but the surface is kind of a weird, icy, chunky snow- cone consistency.

Bill took the snow machine and groomed Bartlett this morning.  He broke the layer of ice and he said it's skiable, but cobby and looked like large curd cottage cheese.  (The groomers must have been hungry when they reported today...snow cones and cottage cheese??;)

Tom said it's been misting, sleeting and now lightly snowing on the Hillside today.  He's cleaned up the Lighted Loops, Double Bubble, the Gasline and plans to make a few passes on the Richter and Spencer before he takes off.  The tracks are pretty glazed over on the Gasline but he's waiting to see what the weather does before he tackles that project.  It's pretty fast out there with lots of double poling.  Again, good skate skiing and very fast.  Take it easy and enjoy!
