It's beginning to look a lot like a winter wonderland out there!! Yay!
Craig is out at Kincaid winging down and knocking the air out of this new snow on all the Lighted trails today. He said it's not icy any more...but it is soft and a little burmy in places.
On the Hillside, Tom hit the Lighted Loops, the Spencer and the Abbott Multi-Use (watch for lumps and bumps on both of those trails) and by the end of the day he'll have gone over the Richter as well. The new snow if fairly dense and compacting well...skiing is soft and a bit slow but it's so nice to be outside! Tom also did half of the Tour trail...just past the radio towers and back.
Bill's working at Beach Lake and is pretty pleased with the outcome. He's in the snow cat with rubber tracks and has been able to hit most of the trails, except those with any steep terrain. The rubber tracks allow Bill to gently pack the trails without breaking the base. The downside is that he cannot negotiate the steeper hills. He's hoping you guys will head out to the Train Ride, Hill Loop and Old Lighted and start skiing it down. That just might give him what he needs to make it up the hills, otherwise, he'll head out with the snow machine later. It's still soft and will firm up once it sets a bit. Other than that, enjoy the trails and still keep your eyes open for obstacles (rocks) just under the snow...they're still lurking!
The Groomers would like to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. One or two of them may be out tomorrow so we'll keep you posted if they have anything to report. Cheers!
