Our mission is to promote all forms of Nordic skiing as a healthy activity for all ages and abilities. Among our core activities are maintaining and grooming over 140 kilometers of ski trails for recreation and touring, as well as performance skiing and racing.
Serving Anchorage's Nordic ski community requires the year-round commitment of a small but dedicated staff, hundreds of hard-working volunteers, and a fleet of specialized heavy equipment. More importantly, the generous support of our members and donors is what
makes all of this possible.

Happy May!! Wednesday, May 1, 9:22am, *Update 1:54 pm

Craig was out this morning and has groomed 3 nice loops for your May 1st ski today!  Loop #1:  first half of the Mize down Arlene's Way back up Arlene's Way to the Sisson.
Loop #2:  Margaux's from the Stadium to Jodhpur.  You could access the trails from the Jodhpur or Raspberry parking lot.
Loop #3:  Elliot's to World Cup down Roller Coaster and take Cautious Cut-Off.

Tracks have been removed on all trails except on the Lake Loop.

Craig is encouraging all skiers to be very careful going down the hills as so frequently there are dirt spots or puddles at the bottom.

There will be no more grooming on the Lekisch, the Sisson and the second half of the Mize...too much dirt, giant puddles and ice.

The tracks on Horseshoe have been removed and it's open for skating for the remainder of the season.

ALL the tunnels are now filled with ice and water.  No snow on the Bridge.  Ski with caution.

TUESDAY:  first half of the Mize, Arlene's Up and Down, Margaux's, Elliot's, World Cup, Jodhpur, Ice Box and Old Six.
MONDAY:    first half of the Mize, Arlene's Up and Down, Margaux's and Jodhpur (no tracks).
SATURDAY:  Horseshoe (no track) and Lake Loop (80% with new track),  Snow Making Loop, Mize, Arlene's Way down to the Sisson, Arlene's Way back up to the Mize, Margaux's and the Jodhpur
FRIDAY:  Mize, Margaux's, Jodhpur and the Sisson (last groom on Sisson)

Tom was out this morning and just had to groom once more to set a record for the longest grooming effort on the Hillside.  He hit the Lighted Loops, Richter, Spencer, Gasline (no new tracks) and Double Bubble.

Tom has abandoned grooming efforts on the Abbott Multi-Use Trail, the Lower half of Randy's, the Tour of Anchorage Trail and the Ridge.

Ski with CAUTION, look for puddles in the usual places, watch for dirt spots and icy sections and follow the detours.

The Richter is groomed for freestyle until the end of the season.

The grooming efforts at APU have come to an end as accessibility is a challenge.   Have fun!

TUESDAY:  Richter, Lighted Loops, Double Bubble, Spencer and Gasline.
MONDAY:  Ridge, Richter, Lighted Loops, Double BubbleSpencer, new track on Gasline.
SUNDAY:   skate lanes on Hillside Lighted, Besh, Double Bubble, Gasline and Spencer.

Bill was out on the trails at Beach Lake yesterday and said that therewas still decent coverage on the Chalet side (wet corn snow).  Watch out for some dirt spots and puddling.  Skiing is still happening on these trails!  However, the grooming efforts have come to an end.  Bill says "thank you for a great season!"

FRIDAY:  Bill made two passes with a snowmachine on most of the trails at Beach Lake.  There is no track anywhere and surprisingly, no dirt spots yet.  A few of the hills are getting a little icy and there is some debris from Thursday's wind.  As of yesterday, he has given up efforts on the High School side (Stadium and Christy) and the tunnels are filled with clear ice.  The trails are rough in spots, so ski with CAUTION.  Get out and have fun in the sun!
Watch out for overflow on Mama's by the bridge and on the first corner of the Swamp closest to Main St.   Enjoy!

***  Eagle River High School, Yosemite Dr., Coyote Trails at Mirror Lake Middle School and Bartlett have all seen the last of the grooming efforts for this season.  Those trails are "as is".
The Coyote Trails were last groomed on Tue. 4/16
ERHS and Yosemite Dr. Trails                Mon. 4/15
Bartlett                                                      Fri. 4/12
