YOUR MEMBERSHIP MATTERS!

Our mission is to promote all forms of Nordic skiing as a healthy activity for all ages and abilities. Among our core activities are maintaining and grooming over 140 kilometers of ski trails for recreation and touring, as well as performance skiing and racing.
Serving Anchorage's Nordic ski community requires the year-round commitment of a small but dedicated staff, hundreds of hard-working volunteers, and a fleet of specialized heavy equipment. More importantly, the generous support of our members and donors is what
makes all of this possible.

KINCAID
Craig was out this morning and these are his findings: he groomed the Mize and said it's in decent shape.  Arlene's Way to the Sisson and Arlene's Way back to the Mize are decent.  Margaux's and Jodhpur have been groomed with new track and they are in good shape.  Mize's Folly, Moose Hill, Stairway to Heaven, and the Big Dipper have had the tracks removed because it's too shallow and narrow sections are developing due to melting.  Use EXTREME CAUTION on those trails.  The Snow Making Loop is in good shape.  The Sisson is starting to flood with dirt spots showing up.  Use EXTREME CAUTION on this trail.  There will be no more grooming on the Lekisch...too much dirt.

The tracks on Horseshoe have been removed and it's open for skating for the remainder of the season.
ALL the tunnels are now filled with ice and water.  So, ski with caution.

MONDAY:  Multi-Use Trail, Mize, Sisson, Jodhpur, and Margaux's
SATURDAY:   Mize, Sisson, Snow Making Loop, Old 6, Ice Box, Hairpin, Lake Loop and the Horseshoe.
FRIDAY:   Mize, Elliot's Climb to World Cup and back down, Jodhpur, Lekisch 2.9 and Margaux's.

HILLSIDE
Tom and Chuck did the best they could between the snowcat and the snowmachine.  They were able to groom the Lighted Loops, Double Bubble, Spencer and set new track on the GaslineRandy's was groomed but Tom thinks it's fading fast.  Ski with CAUTION, look for puddles in the usual places, watch for dirt spots and icy spots.

The Richter and Ridge are now groomed for both freestyle and classic until the end of the season.
The grooming efforts at APU have come to an end as accessibility is a challenge.   Have fun!

TUESDAY:  new track on all the Lighted Loops, Spencer, Gasline, and Double BubbleHomestead  for skating.
MONDAY:  Skate lanes on the Lighted Loops, Double Bubble, Gasline, the Spencer, Tour of Anchorage Trail and the Abbott Multi-Use.  New track on Randy's, Service HS Stadium, the Ridge and Richter.

CHUGIAK/EAGLE RIVER
No grooming today, too wet and too warm.  If it cools off overnight, Bill will do his best to groom Beach Lake.

There are still tracks on all the trails and most of them are in reasonable shape...perhaps a bit icy.   With the current conditions the tracks will remain "as is" for the rest of the season, however, he'll make repairs as needed.  Enjoy!

SATURDAY:  Skate lanes on Christy LoopStadium, Train Ride, Old Lighted, High Rd., Hill Loop, Mainstreet, Swamp and around Chalet
FRIDAY:  Chalet Loop, Sprint Loop, Mama'sBridge Loop, Junkyard, Appendix, Low Road, Swamp and Corral.  He pulled the tracks out of Meander and groomed it for skating.

***  Eagle River High School, Yosemite Dr., Coyote Trails at Mirror Lake Middle School and Bartlett have all seen the last of the grooming efforts for this season.  Those trails are "as is".
The Coyote Trails were last groomed on Tue. 4/16
ERHS and Yosemite Dr. Trails                Mon. 4/15
Bartlett                                                      Fri. 4/12
