Our mission is to promote all forms of Nordic skiing as a healthy activity for all ages and abilities. Among our core activities are maintaining and grooming over 140 kilometers of ski trails for recreation and touring, as well as performance skiing and racing.
Serving Anchorage's Nordic ski community requires the year-round commitment of a small but dedicated staff, hundreds of hard-working volunteers, and a fleet of specialized heavy equipment. More importantly, the generous support of our members and donors is what
makes all of this possible.

Craig groomed the Dark Trails this morning...Elliot's Climb to World Cup, Easy St., the whole Lekisch Trail System, Ice Box, Mize's Folly, Moose Hill, Stairway to Heaven and Compression.  Great skiing in the sunshine for both classic and skating today.
Tom will be starting his days a little earlier from here on out.  He started this morning by taking the Pisten Bully to groom APU.  He thinks this might have been his last trip because the snow is quickly melting on the Tudor Bridge.  However, he will continue to groom the Tour Trail up to that point as long as he can.  He had some issues with setting new track on the Tour Trail...some places accepted the track pan and others did not.  So, he did the best he could and ended up leaving some of the track "as is".  It's just that time of year when we're thankful for what we've got!  Tom mentioned that the upper end of the Tour Trail, just below Service HS, is in great shape.  On the Hillside, he didn't set any new track but cleaned up the skate lanes on the Lighted Loops, the Spencer and Double Bubble.   He'll have the Ridge and the Richter ready to go by 1:00 this afternoon.  So, enjoy skiing in the sunshine!
Bill worked on the skate lanes at Beach Lake Trails early this morning and groomed  the Bridge Loop, Appendix, Corral Loop, North Pasture, Chalet Loop, Sprint Loop, Junkyard, Train Ride, Old Lighted, High Road, Main St. and the Swamp trail.  He said the tracks looked a little icy, but were still well formed.  The sun is beating down, so have fun while it lasts!
FRIDAY: Bill was out and groomed the trails at Bartlett for both classic and skating.  Enjoy!

"UWAX is Back" Kincaid weather hotline is back online 248-UWAX (248-8929) will give Time, Temp in F, Wind direction, wind speed & humidity. Listen closely, - Hal, the automated voice, is a bit hard to understand. Huge thank you to Karl Volz for making that happen.
