Our mission is to promote all forms of Nordic skiing as a healthy activity for all ages and abilities. Among our core activities are maintaining and grooming over 140 kilometers of ski trails for recreation and touring, as well as performance skiing and racing.
Serving Anchorage's Nordic ski community requires the year-round commitment of a small but dedicated staff, hundreds of hard-working volunteers, and a fleet of specialized heavy equipment. More importantly, the generous support of our members and donors is what
makes all of this possible.

Craig was out this morning taking a spin around the park.  He groomed the Mize (1st half with track, 2nd half without), Margaux's (no track), Easy St. to the Bridge (no track), Ice Box and Hairpin (no track).  Elliot's Climb to World Cup has been groomed with track and so has the Jodhpur.  Speaking of the Jodhpur, Craig says that this trail is, by far, in the best shape compared to the rest of the park.

Craig is encouraging all skiers to be very careful going down the hills as so frequently there are dirt spots or puddles at the bottom.

There will be no more grooming on the Lekisch...too much dirt.

The tracks on Horseshoe have been removed and it's open for skating for the remainder of the season.

ALL the tunnels are now filled with ice and water.  So, ski with caution.

WEDNESDAY:  Mize ,  Arlene's Way to the Sisson and Arlene's Way back to the Mize , new track on Margaux's and Jodhpur , Mize's Folly, Moose Hill, Stairway to Heaven, and the Big Dipper groomed with track removed (Use EXTREME CAUTION ). Snow Making Loop and Sisson (Use EXTREME CAUTION ).
TUESDAY:  too warm + too wet = no grooming.
MONDAY:  Multi-Use Trail, Mize, Sisson, Jodhpur, and Margaux's
SATURDAY:   Mize, Sisson, Snow Making Loop, Old 6, Ice Box, Hairpin, Lake Loop and the Horseshoe.
FRIDAY:   Mize, Elliot's Climb to World Cup and back down, Jodhpur, Lekisch 2.9 and Margaux's.

Tom groomed the Entire Park today.  The only trail where he set new track is the Gasline.  He also groomed the Tour Trail down to Campbell Creek Bridge and back.
Tom thinks this might have been his last spin around the Stadium at Service HS and on Randy's.  They're just getting too wet and starting to collapse.

Ski with CAUTION, look for puddles in the usual places, watch for dirt spots and icy sections and follow the detours.

The Richter and Ridge are now groomed for freestyle until the end of the season.

The grooming efforts at APU have come to an end as accessibility is a challenge.   Have fun!
WEDNESDAY:  Lighted Loops, Double Bubble, Spencer, Randy's and new track on Gasline
TUESDAY:  new track on all the Lighted Loops, Spencer, Gasline, and Double BubbleHomestead  for skating.
MONDAY:  Skate lanes on the Lighted Loops, Double Bubble, Gasline, the Spencer, Tour of Anchorage Trail and the Abbott Multi-Use.  New track on Randy's, Service HS Stadium, the Ridge and Richter.

It got below freezing last night so Bill was out this morning at Beach Lake .  The tracks are toast so he groomed the following trails for freestyle:  Chalet Loop, North Pasture, Junkyard, Sprint, Mama's, Bridge Loop, Appendix, Low Road, Corral and Swamp.  Watch out for overflow on Mama's by the bridge and on the first corner of the Swamp closest to Main St.   Enjoy!
SUNDAY - WEDNESDAY:  too wet + too warm = no grooming
SATURDAY:  Skate lanes on Christy LoopStadium, Train Ride, Old Lighted, High Rd., Hill Loop, Mainstreet, Swamp and around Chalet
FRIDAY:  Chalet Loop, Sprint Loop, Mama'sBridge Loop, Junkyard, Appendix, Low Road, Swamp and Corral.  He pulled the tracks out of Meander and groomed it for skating.
