Our mission is to promote all forms of Nordic skiing as a healthy activity for all ages and abilities. Among our core activities are maintaining and grooming over 140 kilometers of ski trails for recreation and touring, as well as performance skiing and racing.
Serving Anchorage's Nordic ski community requires the year-round commitment of a small but dedicated staff, hundreds of hard-working volunteers, and a fleet of specialized heavy equipment. More importantly, the generous support of our members and donors is what
makes all of this possible.

Friday, April 26, 11:23 am, *Update 12:35 pm

There is still some decent skiing going on around town and in Chugiak!!
Craig is still grooming, but has removed the track on all trails with the exception of the Jodhpur.  Speaking of the Jodhpur, Craig says that this trail is, by far, in the best shape compared to the rest of the park.  He groomed the Mize, Margaux's, Jodhpur and the Sisson today.  This is "it" for the more grooming, due to huge lakes.  Be safe and enjoy your Friday!

Craig is encouraging all skiers to be very careful going down the hills as so frequently there are dirt spots or puddles at the bottom.

There will be no more grooming on the Lekisch...too much dirt.

The tracks on Horseshoe have been removed and it's open for skating for the remainder of the season.

ALL the tunnels are now filled with ice and water.  So, ski with caution.

THURSDAY:   Mize, Margaux's, Easy St. to the Bridge, Ice Box and Hairpin Elliot's Climb to World Cup has been groomed with track and so has the Jodhpur.
WEDNESDAY:  Mize ,  Arlene's Way to the Sisson and Arlene's Way back to the Mize , new track on Margaux's and Jodhpur , Mize's Folly, Moose Hill, Stairway to Heaven, and the Big Dipper groomed with track removed (Use EXTREME CAUTION ). Snow Making Loop and Sisson (Use EXTREME CAUTION ).
TUESDAY:  too warm + too wet = no grooming.

Tom groomed the whole park for skating today...(Gasline has yesterday's track).  The trails were hard enough for him to do the Stadium but the lower half of Randy's has been abandoned.  Most of the puddles haven't grown and he intends to check the Tour Trail out tomorrow, one last time, if it's cold enough.  Have a great weekend!

Ski with CAUTION, look for puddles in the usual places, watch for dirt spots and icy sections and follow the detours.

The Richter and Ridge are now groomed for freestyle until the end of the season.

The grooming efforts at APU have come to an end as accessibility is a challenge.   Have fun!
THURSDAY:  Entire Park, Tour Trail  (without tracks) and Gasline (with track).
WEDNESDAY:  Lighted Loops, Double Bubble, Spencer, Randy's and new track on Gasline
TUESDAY:  new track on all the Lighted Loops, Spencer, Gasline, and Double BubbleHomestead  for skating.

Bill made two passes with a snowmachine on most of the trails at Beach Lake this morning.  There is no track anywhere and surprisingly, no dirt spots yet.  A few of the hills are getting a little icy and there is some debris from yesterday's wind.  After today, he'll give up efforts on the High School side (Stadium and Christy) and the tunnels are filled with clear ice.  The trails are rough in spots, so ski with CAUTION.  Get out and have fun in the sun!
Watch out for overflow on Mama's by the bridge and on the first corner of the Swamp closest to Main St.   Enjoy!

THURSDAY:   Skate lanes on Chalet Loop, North Pasture, Junkyard, Sprint, Mama's, Bridge Loop, Appendix, Low Road, Corral and Swamp.
SUNDAY - WEDNESDAY:  too wet + too warm = no grooming
SATURDAY:  Skate lanes on Christy LoopStadium, Train Ride, Old Lighted, High Rd., Hill Loop, Mainstreet, Swamp and around Chalet
