Our mission is to promote all forms of Nordic skiing as a healthy activity for all ages and abilities. Among our core activities are maintaining and grooming over 140 kilometers of ski trails for recreation and touring, as well as performance skiing and racing.
Serving Anchorage's Nordic ski community requires the year-round commitment of a small but dedicated staff, hundreds of hard-working volunteers, and a fleet of specialized heavy equipment. More importantly, the generous support of our members and donors is what
makes all of this possible.

Matt was out again last night because it was clear and cold and groomed the Lake Loop and Horseshoe.  When he called this morning, he was on his way to Kincaid to ski and said it was snowing again.  So, expect to find some more fresh stuff in the tracks.
Ben was out last night grooming the SKAN 24 race course in between racers.  He also groomed the Mize.  The rest of the park is un-groomed but should be good skiing with all the new snow.  Time to get out there and pack the tracks and have a great day!
The SKAN 24 has come to an end.  What an amazing display of athleticism and endurance!  Way to go skiers!  Go home now and take a well deserved nap.  The trails are in excellent shape for classic and skating. Enjoy!
Tom was out yesterday and groomed, with new track, the Lighted Loops, Double Bubble, Gasline and Service High School.  He was on his way to hit APU around 11:00 am, so it should be in great shape.  The Richter was done Friday.  Skiing is great for both classic and skating.  Have a wonderful day!
Bill went out again last night and groomed Beach Lake Trails (with the exception of the Christy).  He is out this morning working on Eagle River HS and the trails on Yosemite Dr..  If all goes well, he intends to hit the Coyote Trails at Mirror Lake Middle School today, however, the forecast is for more snow, so we'll see.    Skiing is excellent for both classic and skating.  Enjoy!
Bill will be finished grooming the trails at Bartlett by 1 pm today.  Get it while it lasts...before it snows again!  The trails are in excellent shape for skating and classic.
"UWAX is Back" Kincaid weather hotline is back online 248-UWAX (248-8929) will give Time, Temp in F, Wind direction, wind speed & humidity. Listen closely, - Hal, the automated voice, is a bit hard to understand. Huge thank you to Karl Volz for making that happen.
