Our mission is to promote all forms of Nordic skiing as a healthy activity for all ages and abilities. Among our core activities are maintaining and grooming over 140 kilometers of ski trails for recreation and touring, as well as performance skiing and racing.
Serving Anchorage's Nordic ski community requires the year-round commitment of a small but dedicated staff, hundreds of hard-working volunteers, and a fleet of specialized heavy equipment. More importantly, the generous support of our members and donors is what
makes all of this possible.

KINCAID's snowing...a lot!  The boys at Kincaid are out on the snowmachine and in the Pisten Bully knocking the air out of the new snow.  They report that 10-12" have fallen and it's still coming down.  They do not intend to set any tracks until they can work some "body" into the snow...maybe by tomorrow.
Feel free to help them out by skiing it down!
12:00 pm
Craig has the whole park groomed...and it's still snowing.
Chuck is doing the same thing on the Hillside.  He has been down the Tour Trail already this morning.  Tom will follow up this evening with another groom of the park, then they'll be back again tomorrow.  Enjoy the new snow!
Bill is fixing a tire on the snow cat this morning, then he'll be knocking the air out of the snow at Beach Lake Trails this afternoon.  Great opportunity to be the first one out in the unbroken snow.  Have fun!

"UWAX is Back" Kincaid weather hotline is back online 248-UWAX (248-8929) will give Time, Temp in F, Wind direction, wind speed & humidity. Listen closely, - Hal, the automated voice, is a bit hard to understand. Huge thank you to Karl Volz for making that happen.
