Our mission is to promote all forms of Nordic skiing as a healthy activity for all ages and abilities. Among our core activities are maintaining and grooming over 140 kilometers of ski trails for recreation and touring, as well as performance skiing and racing.
Serving Anchorage's Nordic ski community requires the year-round commitment of a small but dedicated staff, hundreds of hard-working volunteers, and a fleet of specialized heavy equipment. More importantly, the generous support of our members and donors is what
makes all of this possible.

TGIFriday, February 22, 11:53 am

Thank you to all who attended the Nordic Trails Conversation last night at the Kincaid Chalet!  We greatly appreciate your comments and input and we'll let you know when we decide to get together again!

Ricky was out last night and in the wee hours of this morning preparing the park for your skiing adventures today.  The Entire Park has been groomed, except the Sisson Loop, for both classic and skate skiing.
He also went over the race course for the State High School Championship races today and tomorrow.  Good luck racers!
Tom and Chuck were out yesterday working/brush cutting on the Tour Trail. They cleaned up all the skate lanes on the Lighted Loops, Double Bubble and the Spencer. They re-tracked some of the trails, but for the most part, the tracks are in good shape.
We'll hear more from Tom later this afternoon about today's for an *Update*.
Well, it's a good thing Bill had the Pisten Bully in the shop yesterday for routine maintenance because he found a bigger problem!  The belting on one of the tracks was torn and if it isn't fixed, the whole track will fall off and the cat will go nowhere.  So, he's fixing that today!  We had 1-2" of snow last night and he hopes to be finished in time to groom Beach Lake later tonight.  He passes on his apologies and appreciates your patience.  The trails are still in excellent shape...just a little fresh snow on head on out and enjoy!

"UWAX is Back" Kincaid weather hotline is back online 248-UWAX (248-8929) will give Time, Temp in F, Wind direction, wind speed & humidity. Listen closely, - Hal, the automated voice, is a bit hard to understand. Huge thank you to Karl Volz for making that happen.
