KINCAID
Craig reported that at 9:30 this morning the temperature was 32 degrees with freezing rain and rain mixed coming down.  The park only received about 1/2 inch of snow overnight.  He's planning to stay off the trails until the temperature drops.  He says the fresh, wet, crunchy snow on top of yesterday's groom should produce great skiing today. Have fun!
HILLSIDE
2:55
It is warm and wet on the Hillside, but not as warm as Kincaid.  Tom said they only got about an inch of dense snow last night.  So, he groomed all the Lighted Loops and set new track on Double Bubble and Gasline.  Yesterday, he and Chuck broke down half way through their groom on the Tour of Anchorage Trail, so they are finishing that today as well as the trails at APU and the Goose Lake Connector.  They also snowmachine groomed the Richter and the Spencer LoopsSkiing is excellent on the Hillside today!
CHUGIAK/EAGLE RIVER
Bill took the snowmachine over to Eagle River High School and Yosemite Dr. today to groom and work on "base development".  He says the trails are soft but plenty skiable.
He's heading over to Mirror Lake Middle School and the Coyote Trail System this afternoon with the Pisten Bully and Beach Lake Trails tonight after Jr. Nordic.
4:00 pm  The Middle School and Coyote Trail grooming was a non-starter.  He tried to groom, but it was way too warm and the snow was just balling up behind the cat.  Besides, a misty rain was coming down...he'll wait until it gets colder.  We'll keep you posted about the pending groom at Beach Lake tonight.

By the way...I skied Beach Lake last night and it was great!  Fluffy, new snow on top of day-old groom made for fast and fun trails!

"UWAX is Back" Kincaid weather hotline is back online 248-UWAX (248-8929) will give Time, Temp in F, Wind direction, wind speed & humidity. Listen closely, - Hal, the automated voice, is a bit hard to understand. Huge thank you to Karl Volz for making that happen.
